This beloved member of the herding group is an active, beautifully balanced and responsive companion. The Collie is a large dog, measuring 22 to 26 inches at the shoulder and weighing between 50 to 75 pounds. A well fitting, correctly textured coat is of utmost importance in the rough coat variety, which should be abundant except on the head, feet and legs. The Collie is seen in 4 different color patterns, sable and white, tri-color, Blue Merle and white, and white. The Smooth coat variety is held to the same standard as the rough in all aspects except the coat, which on a Smooth Collie should be short, dense, hard and of good texture.
