The Japanese Chin, or Japanese Spaniel, is a toy breed. In Japan it is believed that the Chin is not a dog, and in fact the word “Chin” means cat-like. The Japanese Chin is an ancient breed that has been used in the foundation stock of other breeds such as the English Toy Spaniel, and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Japanese Chins are very clean, easily housebroken, and in many ways the perfect lap dog.
